To put that date into historical perspective, it is the same year the body of park1President Abraham Lincoln was reburied in his permanent tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The 12-story structure towers over the landscape, making it one of the largest carillons in the world and host of the International Carillon Festival held each June. The 67 bells fill the neighborhood air with their melodious sounds throughout the year.
